Local Donation Services

Since Tennesseans have spent most of the last year sticking close to our homes, it comes as no surprise that many of us have been bitten by the organization bug. With spring just around the corner, now is the perfect time to make the final push, clearing out all of your boxed up unwanted items once and for all, leaving you with an organized and clean living space in which to (hopefully) finish out the last few months of quarantine.

If you’ve found yourself with a ton of stuff you don’t need anymore but are having trouble deciding just what to do with it, consider calling one of the following local donation services to send a truck right to your doorstep. While you may need to schedule 2 - 4 weeks in advance, rest assured that these charitable organizations are in great need of quality items to assist in their efforts to stay afloat.

Please be aware that these charities are likely to request that your items be boxed, clean, and fully prepared to load onto the truck. They will also have a pre-determined list of things they cannot accept.

Hours and pickup days may be limited due to current COVID-19 restrictions.

Goodwill Industries (Davidson, Rutherford, Williamson, and Wilson Counties)

If you have a particular charity or thrift shop you would like to donate to, we encourage you to contact them directly and ask if they would be willing to send a truck to pick up donations. Most charities within the region are eager to pick up high-quality items to sell to earn money to support their efforts.

If you need to get rid of items that are no longer usable or salvageable, contact your local Sheriff’s Office to inquire about scheduling a free curbside bulk pickup. Please note that hazardous materials, glass, roofing, batteries, motor oil, and tires are among the items that they will not pick up.

On behalf of the team here at Parks Realty, we thank you for your continued generosity as you support the local non-profits whose efforts are needed now more than ever. As you know, Americans are facing job and food scarcity on a scale we have not faced since our nation’s Great Depression. As a result, your donations to your charity of choice may be the buffer someone needs between them and the worst of these hard times.
