October is here! Let the month of Halloween, cooler weather, and fall leaves begin! Nashville Oktoberfest is back, as are other local favorites such as the Franklin Wine Festival and the Nashville Harvest Festival. New events are also popping up so make sure to mark your calendars and prepare yourself for a whole lot of fun!


October 3rd: Way Late Play Date: Monster Mash
Adventure Science Center | Nashville

Every few months, the Adventure Science Center opens their doors after hours to adults only for an array of unique fundraising events that combine science and your favorite pop culture trends! Guests can enjoy the chance to let their inner kid out to play as they explore all the museum has to offer, like exciting hands-on exhibits and experiments to amazing planetarium features, all with an adult beverage in hand. There will also be food trucks, a costume contest, and more!


October 3-12th: Nashville Film Festival
Regal Hollywood Theaters | Nashville

The Nashville Film Festival is one of the longest-running film festivals in the country and is celebrating its 50th year this October! Festival-goers can enjoy a variety of works from documentaries and narrative features to animated and experimental shorts. There will also be panels and workshops offered for those looking to enrich their knowledge beyond the screen. It’s more than a festival! It’s an experience for all who appreciate the art of film.


October 5th: Culture Fest of Maury County
Columbia Arts Building | Columbia

Culture Fest is a celebration of the arts in Maury County. The Arts District of Columbia will host an array of culinary arts, performing arts, and visual arts for guests. The event will also feature live local music, local marching bands, local artists, hands-on activities, and a large variety of international food vendors. This is the perfect event for a day of fun with friends and family!


October 5th: Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival
Centennial Park | Nashville

The Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival is not only one of Nashville’s favorite and most vibrant festivals, but also a celebration and reminder of what makes Nashville a great place to live! This free festival provides an opportunity for intercultural dialogue through a Nashville festival experience and features a variety of dance and musical performances, food vendors with authentic and exotic tastes from around the world, hands-on children’s activities, an area just for teens, a marketplace, and much more. Don’t miss out!


October 5-7th: Tough Mudder Nashville
Neal Farms | Lebanon

Tough Mudder is more than a mud run, it’s an epic teamwork experience! Lace-up to break free from the everyday and show your weekend who’s boss. This 5k is an untimed challenge that’ll show you what you’re made of and teach you what teamwork is all about. Participants can choose to tackle 10 miles and 20+ obstacles solo or crush 5 wild miles and 13 obstacles with a team. Either way, you’ll finish soaked, tired, and grinning!


October 6th: Nashville Harvest Festival
City Winery | Nashville

City Winery will be hosting their second annual Nashville Harvest Festival! Guests can enjoy an exciting lineup of live music, unlimited tastings of 50+ different wines, exclusive City Winery house-made wines, delicious food, and much more. You will also be able to meet and chat with Local Winemaker Robert Kowall, enjoy tours of our fully-functioning urban winery, and try award-winning wines from all over the world!


October 10-13th: Nashville Oktoberfest
Germantown | Nashville

Locally recognized as one of Nashville’s favorite events, Nashville Oktoberfest celebrates the traditions of Oktoberfest in the heart of Music City! Spanning over 10 city blocks, an estimated quarter of a million people will attend the 40th annual celebration. Guests can enter the festival for free and interact with a large variety of food vendors and other merchants, as well as enjoy live music and many more activities!


October 24-26th: Flashlight Nights at Oaklands Mansion
Oaklands Mansion | Murfreesboro

Take the opportunity to explore Murfreesboro’s most mysterious mansion and experience some of the unusual mourning customs and creepy superstitions of the Victorian era! As the doors creak open to reveal the town’s spookiest historic home, guides in mourning attire will be stationed throughout the mansion to answer questions. Each night, the Baker’s Dozen Cookie Cabin will be selling tasty Halloween themed cookies and beverages, so plan to get your snack-on!


October 25th: Franklin Wine Festival
The Factory at Franklin | Franklin

Celebrating its 15th year, the Franklin Wine Festival is a grand experience for both foodies and wine connoisseurs alike! This regionally recognized event pairs extensive offerings by Nashville’s finest chefs with selected wines, beers, and whiskey from around the world. Join top restaurants, sommeliers, winemakers, and distillers from across the nation, as well as Nashville’s own acclaimed gourmet scene, for the culinary experience of a lifetime!


October 26th: Sumner County Wine & Brew Festival
Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club | Hendersonville

This exciting upscale festival will be set in the heart of Sumner County! The Sumner County Wine & Brew Festival features a superb selection of fine wines, beer from local breweries, tastings from restaurants, as well as great live entertainment. Gather your friends and family for a day of fun in an amazing setting. Tickets sell out fast, so get yours early!
